The world’s sea level will increase

It we.
If we all.
If we all, everywhere.
If we all, everywhere, will.
If we all, everywhere, will not stop.
If we all, everywhere, will not stop to.
If we all, everywhere, will not stop to be.
If we all, everywhere, will not stop to be the.
If we all, everywhere, will not stop to be the main.
If we all, everywhere, will not stop to be the main cause.
If we all, everywhere, will not stop to be the main cause of.
If we all, everywhere, will not stop to be the main cause of climate.
If we all, everywhere, will not stop to be the main cause of climate change…

...the Greenland ice sheet will continue to shrink and the world’s sea level will increase just like this underestimate group of repetitive words, to make the earth only a great ocean of regrets.

All we want from Christmas

Dear Santa,

We, the animals, have been good and patient...

Yes, sometimes we had a fight...

Sometimes we just didn't like each other...

Sometimes we were lazy...

And sometimes we ate the wrong food...

Anyway, we did our work, as always.
This year could you, please, remove earth's destiny from Humanity's hands and give it to us?
Your life depends on that too...

What is at risk

Please, wait a minute, just watch...

Hey, I'm talking to you, take a look...

I'm serious, don't go, I mean, you just look...

Do it for me, do it for you, and everybody else.

And now, don't you think we should do our best to not lose all of this?

Climate change stories: the polar bear last request

 Hey, buddy, can we talk?

I know you don't know me, but I know you...

I'm also aware you're considering me as invisible, but I can strongly feel your presence on this planet...

So, since your scientists, not mine, are saying that slow arctic freeze raising will cause my extinction...

Since it's your fault, not mine, can we talk?
But face to face, for once.

Today against tomorrow

Today against tomorrow.
That is the modern clash, the last one.
The contention between two narrators on the same scene, of changeable setting, that is the heavenly vault, rather than every corner at play on our mother earth.
Two opposing stories daily told to the human spectator, but also a reader, as a voter, and more than ever a consumer.
“Think about today,” repeats one incessantly, “dissipate without sparing the living fuel that has been given to you by the industrial divinity you have created by yourself.
“Fill your journey on the road with accelerated revenue, in the form of an inescapable escape from primordial innocence.
“Eliminate any dubious obstacle from the run, as the prize unfolds as you whiz without turning back. And if someone has the inappropriate intrusiveness to compare you to a dumbly sad lab rat, maybe he’s right, but at the end of the show didn’t have you any fun anyway? No? Well, not bad, because after the end of the trip you’ll never have chance to warn the others.”
At the same time, on the other side of the stage, the antithetical story goes on air.
“Remember tomorrow,” says tenaciously the voice, “remember that every reason is useful for te whole action, here and now, for the foundations in the future.
“Sowing is a foolish gesture if you lack the least act of faith in the fruit that will come.
“Nonetheless, a fearless story as a selfless choice cannot take place without the help of the only guardian angels that nature will ever offer you.
“You can call them pure air, clean water and fertile land, if you prefer, but still today they are the only miracle that has never needed evidences.”
Well, this is the current conflict.
The dance that drags the whole of humanity on the opposite sides of the world.
Two stories murmured or constantly shouted in our conscience.
But only one of them will let today become tomorrow…

Five gifts to protect

Once upon a time five gifts.
Five priceless riches to take care of and protect.
As many living perfections, according to a study by the University of Queensland and the Wildlife Conservation Society, recently published by the journal Nature, located respectively in Australia, in the United States, in Brazil, in Russia and in Canada.
That is, the five custodians of the remaining wild regions of the world.
Nonetheless, we all know how often the keepers of a sublime sharing works, where time passes and memory vacillates.
They end up unhappily to take them for granted and neglect them too.
Arriving even to claim the merit of such a gift, instead of taking charge of the precious responsibility.
This is our worst betrayal.
Because there was a time when the earth made a deal with the creatures that it hosts and an inviolable commandment is written on it.
“Humanity,” said the planet, “you will be father and mother exactly like me. You will have to love and defend yours and my children with your life itself.”
Once upon a time there was a duty for everyone, no one should feel excluded.
Once upon a time the remaining gifts.
Let’s keep our promise and make sure that tomorrow they will be there again...

Seven remedies vs global warming

Here are some suggestions against global warming:

1. Never buy something new until the old one is completely broken, including clothes. In this way you will reduce the demand for materials, their transport around the planet and the pollution, since they will end up in a landfill.

2. Get rid of the dishwasher: it wastse energy and water.

3. (If you can afford it) Create a garden – or contribute to it, it will help prevent flooding.

4. In case you live in a city, why do you need the car? Take public transport, go cycling or walking. Rent a car when you go on vacation.

5. Turn off all the lights before going to sleep.

6. Buy local products; knock down so many miles of traveling food.

7. Persuade your neighbors to do the same.

Speaking about Global Warming with dad

“Daddy”, I start to say, reading an article on the smartphone, “new petrol and diesel car sales in Europe must be phased out before 2030 if the auto sector is to play its part in holding global warming to the Paris agreement’s 1.5C goal…
“What’s the Paris agreement, Liza?”
“The pact by European countries to limit the emissions increase to 1.5°C, since this would significantly reduce risks and the impacts of climate change…”
“What’s this climate change, honey?”

“Dad?! Climate change… I was reading about global warming, right?”
Global warming? What’s that?”

“Okay, I quote from Wiki: Global warming is the observed century-scale rise in the average temperature of the Earth's climate system and its related effects.”
“And it’s bad, isn’t it?
“Are you kidding me, dad?”
“No, I’m not…”

“Listen, daddy, I’m also reading this from that article: A draft report by the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change makes clear that 2C of warming would expose around 10 million more people in coastal areas to floods, storm surges and crop damage than 1.5C would. Global sea levels would also rise by an extra 10cm, heatwaves would be longer, extreme weather events stronger, economic growth lower, while crop yields and water availability would substantially decline…
“I see, but you said 1.5, right? The news says 2, not 1.5…”
“And so?”
“So, we can relax. We’ve got still 0.5C to enjoy…”

“Okay, stop the car, dad!”
“Stop the car and give me the key.”
Because I think this might be the only solution to the problem...

Global deforestation rate 2017

Once upon a time the green.
And all that makes part of it.
An apparently negligible, flying leaf on a melancholic movie scene.
A nice tree from a child’s drawing.
A fascinating forest in a fantasy novel.
Think about as if it was something really important.
As the main essence of the world we live in.
Like water should be.
Like every human being is.
Then, see the future we’re building on our common horizon.
When every day an area the size of New York City was lost.
So each hundred days an area the size of Scotland.
And within one year an area the size of Italy.
Once upon a time an area, a green one, not the country itself.
However, at the end of the day, do you really think there is a difference?

India water crisis 2018: the crazy choice

Once upon a time in India.
Once upon a time 600 million people living with an absurd choice in our so-called modern times.
I have a few water, indeed.
But, how could I use that?
Should I wash myself or my clothes?
Should I use it to clean food or my home?
Should I keep it for worst times to come?
Should I drink it and stop thinking about?
Living as the rest of the world, believing I had only that for good.
Once upon a time in India, yes it is.
Once upon a time a country that by 2030 will have access to half the water it needs.
But, more than everything.
Once upon a time the water...
